What Makes a Good Coach?

What makes a good coach?
What makes you valuable and worth hiring?
Is it the training you have?
Your life experience?
Is it the awesome questions you ask?
Is it how intuitive you are?
The expert advice you give?
I may ruffle some feathers here….but your dazzling advice and fancy training don’t make you a good coach.
Knowing things or intuiting information doesn’t make you a good coach.
Having a big following doesn’t make you a good coach.
Making a ton of money doesn’t make you a good coach.
I’ve seen many coaches rise to the top, claim to make 5-7 figures overnight, and dazzle newer coaches with a bunch of bullshit. I can tell you right now, MOST of them don’t make what they say. Many of them are bullies. Much of what you see online is complete crap.
Many of these “successful” coaches get a big following because they’re loud. They lead with super masculine energy, and those who are starving for success hand over their money so they can have *even a little* of what the “successful” coaches have.
But you aren’t like that! You aren’t a bully, you aren’t flashy, and you don’t lead with fake income numbers. You are YOU and you help people get results that are within. The transformation is intangible. It’s heart and Soul-Centered, and THAT’S the real reason you wanted to be a coach. But you aren’t a shark and so you’re floundering. (Pun intended).
So how are you going to be successful? How are you going to rise up, shine your light, and lead with your heart and Soul?
Find leaders and mentors who will hold this space for you. Find a coach who allows you be vulnerable, open your heart to, but who will lovingly hold you accountable to expand into the version of you you TRULY want to be.
That means they LISTEN. They ask powerful and thought provoking questions. It means you have a chemistry or connection with them that feels right.
They don’t tell you what to do. They don’t make demands or make you feel like shit. Ever.
Unless you’re the flashy bully type, following someone like that isn’t going to serve you. It only makes you feel bad that you aren’t further along on your journey….so you hand them money because you think they will rescue you from this dark place.
YOU are the only one who can rescue you. Only you can choose a mentor who gets that and holds the space for you.
So if you have been looking at big and “successful” coaches….believing the hype and feeling like shit because you’re not having success YET, please stop drinking the kool-aid.
You are YOU. Your business requires YOU to be the best of who you are….not a duplicate of someone else.
So again….what makes you a good coach?
It’s your INTENTION to be a good coach that makes you a good coach. Your intention to serve, your desire to support the growth of your clients. Your big heart and open mind. It’s YOU. You can have zero training, zero experience, zero idea of HOW you help people you just really really WANT to….and you’ll be a better coach than the smoke blowers and bullshit slingers any day of the week.
You ARE a good coach. You’re fulfilling a higher purpose, and my friend…..you’ve got this.

My Business Has NOT Been An Overnight Success

It took time. A LOT more time than I had wished.

I would see success story after success story on Facebook and after a moment of joy for that person, would immediately wonder what the hell I was doing wrong.

I hit bottom. A lot. I cried. A lot.

I signed up for freebie after freebie that promised answers about that tool or strategy I must be missing.

Months went by with zero dollars coming in.

I questioned my value, and wondered if this was really my path.

One day I swore to my coach I would get a client that week and I got 5. I celebrated and threw my heart into it- even when I knew my rate was too low. Something was better than nothing and at least I was helping people.

And then I just got mad. Mad that I was still struggling despite helping people change their lives. Mad that I wasn’t honoring my value. Mad that I wasn’t thriving in my life- I had struggled enough.

I got tired of being sick and tired.

So I made a decision to charge what I wanted to charge. I decided to ignore the comments about coaches who “overcharge”. I knew these comments came from THEIR money story, not mine. I knew they didn’t know what I offered and it was a blanket statement, not about me.

If someone feels I overcharge, that’s their business not mine. And they will work with a coach that feels right for them.

My dream clients find me. They respect the big numbers and see value in spending money on themselves. Even if they don’t have it yet- they open themselves to receive it.

I’m glad I never sold a program at $5K, $10K, or $15K. It wasn’t where I wanted to be and it wasn’t where my clients are either.

Building your dream business is not an overnight kind of deal. If it’s taking longer than you want, it doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. It doesn’t mean it’s not the right thing.

It means you’re building a real business. It means you’re getting to see the places that need expanding so you can BECOME the success you want to be. It means your Soul is being stretched.

Decide whether or not this is for you. Trust yourself and the process. Know you are enough. If this is really for you- keep going. Stop reading and buying into posts that derail you. Filter out the beliefs and ideas that don’t support your vision.

Give yourself permission to do things YOUR WAY. People will always talk- but that’s their business not yours.

I support you. I’m excited for you. And if you’re reading this now, I connected with your energy as I wrote this and I’m talking to YOU.

If you want support on your journey, if you want to be charging premium rates and you’re not sure how to do it, schedule a call with me. I’m holding space for 3 magical clients to catapult into high ticket freedom.

You can do this!!!

Love and magic my friends. Xo

Embrace the Ugly

Everyday we read posts and articles about releasing the blocks that are getting in our way.
Businesses are being built around the idea that IF ONLY people could be RID of these blocks, then THAT will be the thing that allows all their dreams to finally come true!  If only this ugly thing within them would GO AWAY, then success would be theirs!
Well, I graciously and respectfully disagree.
I understand the thinking behind this….I am a healer after all.  A good healer understands that the symptoms are never the problem and you must look deeper.  Of course!  I agree with that completely.
Where I disagree lies in the idea that there’s any part of you that shouldn’t be there.  Your “blocks” after all are a part of you.  They are a part of what has gotten you THIS far after all.
Your blocks are nothing to be RID of.  Blocks EXIST for you to SEE them!  They are little pieces of old ways of thinking.  Just like your computer and the apps on your phone need updates from time to time, so do parts of YOU.
I think that’s what so many healers and coaches are really trying to say.  Recognizing these old ways of thinking, seeing the blocks for what they really are….and SITTING WITH THE MESSAGES THEY BRING is what allows you to grow and expand into the higher version of you.
Rather than letting go or releasing these blocks, I ask you to consider EMBRACING them.  I ask you to consider that without these dark or outdated parts of yourself, perhaps you never would have sought to express the light and beauty within you at all.
Just like the movie ‘Inside Out’, once Joy accepted that Sadness was just as important as she was, everything changed for the better.
Sit with what your blocks are telling you….allow yourself to FEEL them, no matter how bad they are.  Once they are allowed to be expressed and acknowledged, you will be on to the next thing.
Embracing the parts of you that are ugly, mean, or even nasty may be the biggest Soul growth experience you could ever have.  After all, if you can love the ugliest parts of yourself, then you can do ANYTHING.
